Des Künstlers Küche (transl.:The artist's kitchen)
Character design is important in many media as it helps to bring characters to life visually. It may seem simple at first glance, but it is a challenging task for many artists. Nicole-Dürr-Gerstler held a workshop on this topic. The participants created their own characters on the theme of “cook”. The result is a collection of 20 unique chefs with fantastic dishes that are presented in this book.
For my contribution, I chose a recipe from my childhood: Quarkkeulchen, a traditional sweet dish from Saxony. They originally consist of a dough made from quark, potatoes, flour, eggs and a little sugar (here as a vegan version). The dough is formed into small flat cakes and fried in a pan until golden brown. They are typically served with apple sauce, sugar or cinnamon.
